An end to an era of the underused blog

 Kia ora world wide web,

My poor teaching blog has been left lonesome; with more emphasis on Google Sites, teaching online and the other intricacies within the changing environment of education in the last 5 years... she's been holding down the fort here on Blogger for me!

It seemed timely that I did a rebrand, refresh and retirement of sorts. I have made the decision to leave my kura within Uru Mānuka in pursuit of new teaching opportunities. I do not know if blogs will be involved, however, I think it important that I keep challenging myself to be a 'Lifelong Learner.' Hence the change from 'Miss Birtch Teaches' to 'Miss Birtch, Lifelong Learner.' I hope this will inspire me to keep writing, reflecting and sharing about my teaching journey; even moreso than I am at present!

Over the summer I plan to put in some mahi to make this blog my own again. I have ideas to:

  • back date any PLD and other information I wish to access in the future to this blog
  • share my Te Reo Māori journey
  • reflect on the end of 5 years at my current school
  • complete a 2 week course through MindLab on Sustainability

I have given myself 23 things I wish to do in 2023, consider them like resolutions. One of them was to write more. I wonder if taking up this challenge of lifelong learning, as well as my goal of connecting back to writing (even if no one is reading my posts!) will be the right fit!

Stay tuned and find out!
