Go the All Blacks! | Term 3 CIP Project

 Hi readers,

This term in CIP Community Impact Projects, students have been completing kindness challenges. This has been a challenge, as we have had so many great ideas such as planning and hosting a colouring in competition for our cluster primary schools, creating 'warm fuzzies' and letters of appreciation for our whānau and school staff to lending helping hands in our school vege gardens.

With the Rugby World Cup coming up, we decided we would try to extend our kindness beyond our community, but still keeping in contact. We found out that one of the All Blacks, Anton Lienert-Brown was a former Hornby pupil and cousin of one of our current students. With this connection in mind, students in CIP have been working on cards, posters and letters of encouragement which we will mail to Anton to share with his teammates!

If this isn't good old kiwi fun, we don't know what is! Fingers crossed that our letters make it to the finish line alongside the All Blacks!

You can view more of our work on these slides, including some great student made videos!

Update: we were thrilled to receive a video from Anton himself thanking us on behalf of the All Blacks for the kind words and nice messages. Students and staff alike were proud that our school could contribute to making someone else's day!
